AI & Voice Licensing Policy

Real performances. Clearly defined rights.

Every recording I deliver is a human performance, created specifically for the project we've agreed upon.

I believe in using technology responsibly while protecting the creative work, identity, and rights of the people behind the voice. My approach to AI and voice licensing is built around transparency, informed consent, and clearly defined usage.

1. Voice ownership & permitted use

When you hire me, you're licensing a recorded performance for the purposes, platforms, territories, and duration agreed upon for your project.

That licence does not automatically include the right to reproduce, simulate, modify, or generate new performances using my voice through artificial intelligence or synthetic voice technology.

Any use beyond the original agreement requires separate written authorisation.

2. AI training & voice cloning

Unless expressly authorised through a separate written agreement, my recordings, auditions, demos, and delivered audio may not be used to:

  • Train, develop, fine-tune, or improve AI or machine-learning models.

  • Create synthetic voices, voice clones, digital replicas, or text-to-speech systems based on my voice.

  • Generate new speech or performances using my vocal identity, including through speech-to-speech conversion.

  • Upload or distribute my recordings to third-party AI services for any of these purposes.

These restrictions apply to both complete recordings and excerpts, including unpublished auditions and publicly accessible demo material.

3. AI-assisted production

I understand that AI-assisted tools are increasingly part of modern audio and video production.

Routine editing, noise reduction, mastering, and other production processes are welcome, provided they do not involve creating a synthetic replica of my voice, generating new vocal performances, or using my recordings to train AI systems.

If a production workflow involves generative voice technology, please discuss it with me before using my recordings.

4. AI Licensing & Individual Agreements

I'm open to considering selected AI-related projects on a case-by-case basis, provided they meet appropriate standards for transparency, consent, compensation, and control.

Any approved use of my voice for AI training, synthetic voice generation, or voice replication must be governed by a separate written agreement clearly defining:

  • The specific purpose and permitted applications

  • The technology and parties involved

  • The duration, territory, and scope of the licence

  • Compensation and any applicable ongoing usage fees

  • Restrictions on sublicensing, redistribution, and secondary uses

  • Data retention, security, and deletion arrangements

  • What happens when the agreement expires or is terminated

No AI rights are granted automatically through a standard voiceover booking, recording delivery, or payment.

I do not offer unrestricted or perpetual licensing of my vocal identity.

5. Third-party use & protection

Clients may share recordings with production partners, editors, and distributors as reasonably necessary to complete and distribute the agreed project.

However, recordings may not be sold, transferred, sublicensed, or otherwise supplied to third parties for AI training, voice replication, or synthetic voice generation without my prior written agreement.

Clients and production partners are expected to take reasonable precautions against unauthorised access, reuse, or distribution of supplied recordings.

6. Questions & special projects

My goal is to make licensing straightforward, transparent, and fair for everyone involved.

If your project includes an unusual technical workflow, extended usage requirements, or a proposed AI application, I'm happy to discuss the details before recording begins.

Good work starts with clear expectations. Let's make something worth listening to.
